三月三日,克里夫蘭Lunchclub和Case學生會聯合舉行了聯誼迎春舞會。近三百多位中外嘉賓參加了本次舞會,主辦單位想得十分周到,還特地找人看管小孩,讓爸爸媽媽盡情地在美妙的旋律里,舒展舞姿。在慶祝中國新年迎春舞會上,克里夫蘭各界知名人士也來到了舞會現場,給大家祝福拜年。
當晩參加舞會的許多來賓,希望這樣的聯誼舞會能更多舉辦幾次,本報就這一問題向Lunchclub主席Kevin
Wang請敎,Wang主席説了心里話:舉辦組織這樣一次活動不容易,這要付出很多的時間和精力,還有金錢,Wang主席再三説要謝謝贊助單位的大力支持,國民銀行和黃唯律師樓的贊助,辦這樣一個活動,場地費用加中奬禮物和其他費用就是幾千美元,而我們只有收參加者五美元,不過我們看到大家這么高興,我們也很高興,同時我們將盡力滿足大家的要求.爭取把未來的每一個活動都將辦的合大家心意。
當第二天本報記者看到一位昨天參加舞會的李女士,李説舞會很成功,跳舞跳的她今天早上兩腿還有些累酸,不過很過癮。迎春舞會舉辦的圓滿成功!
LunchClub
自1997年成立,到如今已經是第十一個年頭了,早在1997年,在克里夫蘭市區工作的專業人員自發地成立 LunchClub。他們在每星期五共進午餐,最初的目的是大家聚集一起交流專業經驗,建立友誼,
互相幫助。俱樂部的所有成員都是高學歷的專業人員。
爲增加交流,LUNCHCLUB去年就組織過幾次活動,如2006年8月舉辦了慶祝俱樂部成立十周年活動保玲球,秋季又組織了網球大賽,法律講座等,得到社會各界好評。 |

Ballroom Dance Party
|
On March 3rd LunchClub hosted an evening to celebrate the Year of
the Pig. This celebration took place at Carlton Commons on CWRU’s
campus and was attended by about 250 members of the Asian community
who enjoyed an evening of ballroom dancing, karaoke shows, and a
raffle. To welcome the guests to Carlton Commons Zhong Wang, Chairman
of CSSA of CWRU arranged for students to decorate the building for the
Chinese New Year. This is just one of many events that LunchClub has
arranged for professionals to get together and network.
The evening began with an opening speech by Margaret Wong who
was invited by Kevin Wang of LunchClub to speak at the event.
Margaret’s speech was very inspiring to the guests of LunchClub and it
was a great honor to have her present. In addition to making the
opening remarks at the event she was also on of the sponsors of the
event. The goal of LunchClub is to facilitate professional networking
in the community. In 1997 LunchClub was established with a couple of
professionals and now this group is made up of more than 150
professionals. Beginning in September 2006 LunchClub partnered with
National City Bank to begin a series of seminars for these
professionals. So far there have been three seminars sponsored by NCB
and the next LunchClub seminar will be on March 16th at the Cleveland
Public Library.
To end the evening Matt Salmon, Manager of the
Chinatown Branch for National City Bank gave each child a Chinese New
Year piggy bank as a gift. |

小常識:禮服Tuxedo
煙裝小禮服,在英文里稱作Tuxedo,它從燕尾服簡化而來,是現代國際上最通用的晩間正式禮服。煙裝小禮服的款式有單排扣和雙排扣,領型有尖領、絲瓜領、一般西裝領,單無論哪種款式,領子都必須是絲光緞面,褲管兩側也必須有兩條絲緞飾帶,可搭配絲光提花質料的禮服馬甲,如果不穿馬甲則必須使用與領結同材質做成的禮服腰封,圍在褲腰間。穿着煙裝小禮服的原則應使用吊褲帶,禮服專用竪領襯衫,打黑領結,而且襯衫一定要簇新和非常雪白,才可與禮服的顔色産生強烈對比。面料方面除了最正統的黑色之外,銀灰、白色、棗紅及黑灰絲光織紋的各種禮服面料都可採用,多姿多彩充滿歡樂華麗的盛裝氣氛。嚴格來説,煙裝小禮服還要配上袖扣、禮帽、手套和光面的禮服鞋,但在現代社會,較少人會使用這些額外配件。
