亞洲民眾服務協會成功舉辦周年慈善晩會

ASIA’s Annual Gala is much, more than a fundraising event ASIA’s Annual Gala is much, much, more than a fundraising event. It is hard to believe ASIA has been in Northeast Ohio for almost a quarter of a century. The AnnualGala is meant to celebrate the accomplishments made, share them with the many friends, new friends from all walks of life and sponsors of ASIA. Traditionally the Asian culture values quietness about our achievements and success. Chinese has a proverb, “Your flowers will be naturally fragrant, there is no need to wave them in the wind.” When ASIA was new, there was a reluctance to be too vocal about our accomplishments. But Cheryl Boyce, the former Executive Director of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health and ASIA’s first significant funder, insisted ASIA needs to be bold and vocal when meaningful and good things have been achieved for our Asian American communities. And since, we have followed this advice well.
At the Gala what is even more inspiring is to see intergenerational engagement,both as guests, staff and volunteers. Such a phenomenon is most important in fostering future generations to support the mission and goals of ASIA. For those who chose to wear their traditional attire, especially, youthand young adults, it was a moving and powerful appreciation and respect of their culture that often is lost and forgotten after living here in America.
Each year at ASIA’s Gala there is much hope, inspiration, enthusiasm and commitment to continue her work for helpingmembers of the Asian community in NE Ohio to thrive and live a quality life.

2020年,亞洲民眾服務協會(簡稱ASIA, Inc.)成立將近二十五年,這些年來ASIA, Inc.一直致力於服務俄亥俄州東北部的社群。亞洲民眾服務協會的週年慈善晚會不僅是籌款活動,更是將一年的成果和喜悅分享給眾多新舊好友、同行們以及鼎力支持我們的贊助人。在機構創立初期,曾經歷過一段不太願意與他人談及其成果的時期,因為在亞洲的傳統文化中強調“花香蝶自來”。但是,俄亥俄州少數民族健康委員會的前執行董事Cheryl Boyce,作為ASIA, Inc.的首位重要資助者則堅持認為,當ASIA, Inc.為亞裔美國群體做了有意義的事時,ASIA, Inc.就應該大膽說出來,發出自己的聲音。從那以後,我們很好地遵循了這個建議。
在晚會上,無論是作為嘉賓、工作人員還是志願者都能看到兩代人的參與。這非常鼓舞人心也顯得尤為重要,因為這有利於讓下一代瞭解ASIA, Inc.的使命並繼續支持其工作。而那些選擇身穿傳統服飾參與活動的人則體現了他們對自身根源文化無比的欣賞和尊重,尤其是年輕一輩,這份傳承傳統文化的精神很容易因在美國居住久後被遺忘。
每年亞洲民眾服務協會的慈善晚會,都承載了更多新的希望、靈感、熱情和承諾,鼓勵着更多人加入ASIA, Inc.服務民眾的隊伍中來,幫助他們過上更好的生活。

現有的服務項目:基本醫護服務、老人、兒科、婦女健康、心理和行為健康、足部護理、性病篩查和治療、中心內設有化驗服務、针灸、醫療翻譯、就醫接送服務、藥物濫用的治療、产前护理、兒科、婦女健康、心理和行為健康、足部護理、性病篩查和治療、针灸、醫療翻譯、就醫接送服務、藥物濫用的治療、婦產科、校院健康中心。
服務惠及的人次:2,630人
