尋找中緬印抗戰陣亡美國將士
——UCA推出“美國華人永不忘記”特別行動

   最近，UCA（美國華人聯合會）推出“美國華人永不忘記”（Chinese Americans  Remember ）行動計劃，向第二次世界大戰期間在中國、緬甸、印度戰區（CBI）中爲中國抗日戰爭的勝利英勇作戰的美軍，乃至犧牲的三千多名美籍將士們致敬！以這樣一個特別行動計劃，推動和促進美中兩國友誼和人類的和平發展。
　　　在這一戰區知名的部隊包括：中國遠徵軍、飛虎隊、駝峰航線上的運輸和轟炸部隊、建造中印公路的工程兵部隊，以及麥瑞爾突擊隊。
　　　美國華人將永遠不會忘記那些用自己的生命和鮮血來幫助中國人民抗擊日本侵略的那些年輕的美國戰士們。那是一段令中美兩國人民飽受傷痛的悲壯歷史，那是讓子孫後代爲之驕傲的人文記憶，値得世世代代永久地讚美、珍藏和傳承。
　　　UCA的“美國華人記憶”計劃，旨在讓這一種神聖莊嚴的記憶永生不息，向中緬印的二戰英雄及其家屬致敬，促進美中兩國和平與繁榮發展。
　　　UCA將推出四項具體計劃：
　　 1. UCA將爲包括中國、緬甸、印度戰區在喜馬拉雅地區失踪的大約2500名美國將士提供私人搜索援助，並與中美兩國政府合作，加強兩國在搜索工作中的合作；
　　 2. UCA將在包括美國華人社區在內的任何地方募集資金，爲在中緬印戰場中失去親人的軍屬家庭和後裔設立“大學生奬學金”；
　　 3. UCA將號召和協調美國各地的華人社區，每年在清明時節或美國陣亡將士紀念日，在全美各地的公墓中舉行紀念儀式，向爲參與了幫助中國抗戰勝利，特別是爲此犧牲了的美軍陣亡將士致敬；
　　 4. UCA將與一些老兵組織建立和協調一個新的國會遊説聯盟，呼籲和引導美國國會和軍方採取更爲積極主動的方式，協助蒐尋在喜馬拉雅山地區犧牲的美軍陣亡將士，讓更多的犧牲將士能安葬在美國故土，在家鄉長眠安息。

"Chinese Americans Remember"
--A UCA program to pay tribute to American heroes in WWll China Burma India Theater
   Chinese and Chinese Americans will never forget those young Americans who sacrificed their life to help China against Japanese agreesion. The suffering, sacrifice and ultimate triumph over Japan by China and US are intimately intertwined with each other, providing a heroic human story for generations to appreciate and remember.
UCA's program "Chinese Americans Remember" is designed to immortalize such sacred memory, pay tribute to those heroes and their families, and help bring peace and prosperity between the United States and China, in today's uncertain world.
We have four related program components:
1. UCA will sponsor private search missions for lost airmen in Himalaya mountain region covering India, Myanmar and China. Additionally, UCA will work with both Chinese and American government to enhance cooperation between the two countries for such search missions;
2. UCA will raise fund among Chinese American community or anywhere to set up scholarships for college-bound children in those veteran families who have had a family member lost in China Burma India Theater;
3. UCA federation will lead our community to pay annual tribute to those heroes in their cemeteries across the country on Qingming or the Chinese Memorial Day;
4. Form and lead a new Congressional lobbying coalition to advocate a far more proactive approach toward MIA search and recovery mission so that more heroes will go back home.
