AARP學習班  參議員Sherrod Brown的歡迎詞

April 27, 2015
Friends:
It is my privilege to welcome you to the White House Conference on Aging Regional Forum and to Cleveland, Ohio. I'm happy to join you today for the fourth of five forums across the county that will help inform the 2015 White House Conference on Aging.
Local collaboratives, like the cutting-edge research performed at the Cleveland Clinic Aging Brain Clinic and the support services provided by the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, make Cleveland a national leader in successful, innovative initiatives. I can think of a
better place to host today's dialogue than right here.
That's what today is all about - dialogue. It's about directly engaging older Americans, their families, caregivers, advocates, community leaders, and experts to write the next chapter of a
story we began 80 years ago with the creation of Social Security, and strengthened 30 years later through the enactment of Medicare, Medicaid, and the Older Americans Act. Today is an opportunity to not only reflect on our achievements to date, but also to identify and discuss old and new issues that will impact the quality of life for our aging population.
We will explore important emerging themes, such as ensuring retirement security, promoting healthy aging, providing long-term services and supports, and protecting older Americans from financial exploitation, abuse, and neglect. With input and ideas from you, we can help ensure
that this next chapter works for aging Americans.
Thank you for participating in today's forum. I am looking forward to productive conversations that will help write the future for older Americans.

Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown
U.S. Senator
