(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and
Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance
for 15 projects set to create 1,653 new jobs and retain 1,676 jobs
statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority
(TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board
by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects
are expected to result in more than $99 million in new payroll and
spur more than $304 million in investments across Ohio.
Projects approved by the TCA include:
CENTRAL
Husky Marketing and Supply Company (HMSC), City of Dublin (Franklin
Co.), expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $3
million in new annual payroll and retaining $6.4 million in existing
payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dublin.
HMSC oversees the sale, marketing, and logistics activities for
Husky’s oil refineries. The TCA approved a 1.677 percent, seven-year
Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Oprona Inc. (Rosen USA), City of Gahanna (Franklin Co.), expects to
create 70 full-time positions, generating $4.2 million in new annual
payroll and retaining $2.5 million in existing payroll as a result
of the company’s expansion project in Gahanna. Rosen USA specializes
in the research, development, production, servicing, and operation
of inspection devices for pipelines and other technical systems in
the oil and gas industry. The TCA approved a 1.534 percent,
seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Two Labs LLC, City of Powell (Delaware Co.), expects to create 50
full-time positions, generating $4.5 million in new annual payroll
and retaining $5.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the
company’s expansion project in Powell. Two Labs is a pharma service
company that provides business consulting services to drive
commercialization and market viability. The TCA approved a 1.757
percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHEAST
Menard Inc. (Menards), City of Ravenna (Portage Co.), expects to
create 90 full-time positions, generating $3.5 million in new annual
payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Ravenna. Menards
is a home improvement retail store chain. The TCA approved a 1.164
percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Tiger Pistol Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to
create 25 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual
payroll and retaining $1.8 million in existing payroll as a result
of the company’s new project in Cleveland. Tiger Pistol develops
social advertising platforms for global brands, resellers, and
agencies. The TCA approved a 1.759 percent, seven-year Job Creation
Tax Credit for this project.
Union Home Mortgage Corp., City of Strongsville (Cuyahoga Co.),
expects to create 450 full-time positions, generating $29.3 million
in new annual payroll and retaining $15.9 million in existing
payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in
Strongsville. Union Home Mortgage develops staff scheduling software
focused on employee scheduling for the long-term care and senior
living industries. The TCA approved a 1.477 percent, 10-year Job
Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHWEST
Dorel Home Furnishings Inc., City of Tiffin (Seneca Co.), expects to
create 87 full-time positions, generating $2.9 million in new annual
payroll and retaining $7.3 million in existing payroll as a result
of the company’s expansion project in Tiffin. Dorel Home Furnishings
provides ready-to-assemble furniture for consumers. The TCA approved
a 1.103 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Shutterfly Lifetouch LLC (Lifetouch), Polk Township and City of
Ontario (Crawford Co. and Richland Co.), expects to create 100
full-time positions, generating $3.3 million in new annual payroll
and retaining $5.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the
company’s expansion project in Polk Township and Ontario. Lifetouch
is a photography, photography products, and image sharing company.
The TCA approved a 1.099 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit
for this project.
SOUTHWEST
American Craft Brewery LLC, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.),
expects to create 105 full-time positions, generating $7.7 million
in new annual payroll and retaining $8.9 million in existing payroll
as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cincinnati.
American Craft Brewery manufactures craft beers and other beverages.
The TCA approved a 1.708 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit
for this project.
Brakefire Incorporated (Silco), Village of Evendale (Hamilton Co.),
expects to create 48 full-time positions, generating $4.2 million in
new annual payroll and retaining $8.8 million in existing payroll as
a result of the company’s expansion project in Evendale. Silco
provides fire protection and security systems maintenance for a
variety of industries, including hospitality, schools, health care,
and commercial. The TCA approved a 1.552 percent, seven-year Job
Creation Tax Credit for this project.
The Kroger Co. (Kroger), Cities of Blue Ash and Hamilton (Hamilton
Co. and Butler Co.), expects to create 15 full-time positions,
generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $58.2
million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s data center
project in Blue Ash and Hamilton. Kroger is a grocery company with
32 food manufacturing plants and 2,800 retail stores across the U.S.
The TCA approved a 75 percent, 15-year Data Center Sales Tax
Exemption for this project.
WESTERN
Pella Corporation, City of Troy (Miami Co.), expects to create 428
full-time positions, generating $19.3 million in new annual payroll
as a result of the company’s new project in Troy. Pella designs,
manufactures, and installs window and door products made from wood,
vinyl, and fiberglass. The TCA approved a 1.553 percent, 10-year Job
Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Resonant Sciences LLC, City of Beavercreek (Greene Co.), expects to
create 30 full-time positions, generating $3 million in new annual
payroll and retaining $6 million in existing payroll as a result of
the company’s expansion project in Beavercreek. Resonant Sciences is
a research and development firm focused on developing and
transitioning innovative technologies and solutions to developmental
and operational platforms, including antennas, radomes, and
subsystems. The TCA approved a 1.686 percent, seven-year Job
Creation Tax Credit for this project.
TBD
Mix Talent LLC, TBD, expects to create 50 full-time positions,
generating $5.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.6
million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion
project in a to-be-determined location. Mix Talent is a talent
acquisition and consulting firm specializing in the biotech and
health care industries. The TCA approved a 1.714 percent, eight-year
Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Seamless Contacts Inc. (Seamless.AI), TBD, expects to create 75
full-time positions, generating $5.6 million in new annual payroll
and retaining $764,780 in existing payroll as a result of the
company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location.
Seamless.AI provides software to generate automated sales leads,
compile contact information and sales insights, and allow users to
automatically import those items into a variety of CRM platforms.
The TCA approved a 1.723 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit
