(Ohio) ----- In a push for the Chinese American vote
in Ohio for Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential bid—Chinese literature
will be hitting mailboxes in the state this week. Asian Americans
and Pacific Islanders—America’s fastest growing minority group in
the last decade, according to the U.S. Census—will be courted to in
Asian languages, with mailers to Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese,
Filipinos, and Asian Indians.
“The Chinese American vote is essential and a coveted constituency
in an exceedingly close race,” said Marina Tse, Chinese American
spokesperson for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders supporting
Gov. Romney’s presidential bid. “Asian Americans and Pacific
Islanders supporting Gov. Romney want to communicate to Chinese
Americans his message on critical issues in our community—job
creation, cutting taxes, immigration, and education.”
Attached is the literature mailed to 7,000 Chinese American
residents in Ohio. Veterans For A Strong America Action Group mailed
the literature in support of Romney to a total of 21,000 Asian
American and Pacific Islander residents in the state.
