The National Association of Asian American
Professionals Columbus invites you to attend the 2012 Asian American
Professionals Conference (AAPC) on March 31 from 11:30 am - 5:30 pm,
in the Ohio Stadium on OSU campus in the University Suite.
The focus of this year's conference is how professional development
and community service work hand in hand. We at NAAAP Columbus see
the incredible leadership within the Asian community here locally in
Central Ohio, and thus we see this conference as an opportunity to
share the experiences and ideas amongst the current and future
leaders. We see this conference as an opportunity for attendees to
find mentors, to discuss issues, and to divise solutions.
Our keynote speakers this year are Theresa Lee and Joseph Chen. To

In addition to the conference, attendees will also be taken on a
tour of the Ohio Stadium and can also attend our after-conference
networking party at Double Happiness in the Brewery District.

Keynote Speakers
Theresa Lee
Theresa Lee is a first generation immigrant from Hong Kong, and a
long time resident of Columbus Ohio.
Theresa is very supportive in the well being of the Asian American
community, Women’s movement, and civil rights. She served as the
President and board member of the OCA Columbus Chapter for six
years. She organized the establishment of the Asian American Soldier
Historical Marker for the Bicentennial Celebration of the State of
Ohio in 2003. She organized a series of signature events for the
Asian American community, including a gala recognizing Asian
American Leadership in 2006, Youth Hate Crime Prevention Conference
in 2007, and Women’s Votes Women’s Voices in 2008. She also served
as a language interpreter for the Asian American Community Services.
She is one of the recipients of the Woman Making History Award from
The Franklin County Board of Commissioners. In addition, Theresa was
also honored by the House of Representatives of the 124 General
Assembly of Ohio as one of Ohio’s finest citizen.
An analytical chemist by training, she graduated from Purdue
University. After a 23-year career in pharmaceutical industry, she
retired as a Research Fellow in 2005 from the Ross Product Division
of Abbott. She is the inventor of 9 US Patents, 27 International
Patents, and 26 peer-reviewed scientific research publications. She
is the wife of Dr. Siu-Leung Lee, and mother of two pediatricians -
Dr. Joan Lee and Dr. Adrienne Lee.
Joseph Chen
Joseph is a Columbus entrepenuer and businessman who is currently
the founder and owner of Fresh 50, a downtown restaurant support
projects that alleviate hunger and poverty around the world .
A 2002 graduate of Ohio State University, Joseph began his first
business venture selling clearance Victoria's Secret underwear
overseas in college. Joseph parlayed his success into a retail
clothing store in the South Campus Gateway adjacent to Ohio State.
Unsatisfied with a job working in corporate banking, Joseph started
Fresh 50, keeping in mind the core principles of doing meaningful
and fun work with self motivated people who take pride in their
work.
