Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory leads business development delegation to China

Mayor Mark Malloy will lead a delegation of business leaders to China on July 19th for an 8-day economic development trip as part of the 2010 World Choir Games being held in Shaoxing. The economic development segment of the trip is organized by the 2012 World Choir Games Economic Development Committee. Members of the delegation include representatives from Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport, Duke Energy, Ulmer & Bernes, SS&G Financial Services, and Kolar Design.
While in China, the delegation will hold two economic development related promotional events in Shanghai and Shaoxing with the sponsorship of Procter & Gamble and General Electric Aviation. The group is hoping to attract 100 guests from American and Chinese business communities in China to each event. Included in the trip is a visit to a Fortune 500 company in China to meet with the Chairman of the Board as Cincinnati is on the short list of the cities being considered for their North America expansion. Finally, the group will join the larger Cincinnati delegation for the World Choir Games 2010 in Shaoxing, China. An American night is planned on July 25th showcasing the upcoming 2012 World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio and the delegation will be on hand at the Closing Ceremonies on July 26th when the official flag is presented to Mayor Mallory from Shaoxing Mayor Qian Jianmin.
"Attending the World Choir Games in Shaoxing is an opportunity for Cincinnati to continue to promote economic cooperation between Cincinnati and China," said Mayor Mallory. "I am looking forward to connecting with business leaders in Shanghai, Changchun and Shaoxing to discuss the unique assets Cincinnati has to offer and the potential opportunities those assets could create for Chinese businesses."
GCCCC is helping to coordinate trip arrangements. The 2012 World Choir Games Economic Development Committee Co-chairs are Shau Zavon, President of GCCCC, and Carla Walker, President of think BIG strategies, llc and former Chief of Staff to Mayor Mallory. Both Co-chairs will manage the administration of the delegation in China.
