Dear Erie Chinese Journal and Annie,
I hope you have enjoyed summer and had a chance to relax
a little bit. This letter shares some key activities the
chamber is working on. Matt Forgue, chair of the
Nomination and Election Committee, has been working with
his team to recruit new candidates for our board member
election in November, 2009. The Communication Committee
has been working on our new brochure and will hopefully
to finish the new website before the end of year. More
excitingly, the China US Committee and Program Committee
have been planning our next quarterly Executive China
Round Table event on Sept. 29th at Queen City Club. Mr.
Li, Xiaojing, Head of the Bank of China USA Branches
will be the keynote speaker to talk about China Banking
system and current status to our members!
According to survey interest that was collected in July,
the China US committee has redesigned the 2009 China
Business Development Mission Trip to include Liuzhou,
Chongqing, Chengdu, besides Beijing and Shanghai.
Currently there are 14 companies and individual who are
interested. Final details are coming up regarding
cost/itinerary and a pre-trip briefing is tentatively
scheduled for September 10th. The delegation is set to
go between Oct 27th and Nov 8th. Stay tuned!
Most of our members have gotten renewal statement in the
mail in June-July months. Overall renewal has been a
little slow due to economic challenges in many sectors.
GCCCC appreciates the members who renewed and encourage
other members to set aside a small amount of investment
to help GCCCC maintain its normal operations and provide
quality and meaningful services to you, our members.
GCCCC will have quarterly Executive China Round Table
L&L, Networking for Success event at Long Stanton, China
Mission Trip, as well as a possible Chinese delegation
and membership meeting in the next three months. In the
meanwhile, please also don't forget to have some fun.
There is a great exhibition, Roaring Tigers, Leaping
Carp showing at the Cincinnati Art Musuem in October
which focuses symbolism in Chinese art. Also, through
our partnership with Cincinnati Symphony, programs such
as the highly anticipated Lang Lang Concert, are offered
to our members at a discount...
GCCCC appreciates your support and looks forward to
providing more services and programs in the fall season!
Sincerely,
Shau Zavon
