The Ohio State University Department of East Asian
Languages & Literatures and K-12 Chinese Flagship
Program have been awarded the StarTalk grant to
coordinate two-week Chinese Summer Day Camps for
middle-high school students in four metro areas of Ohio:
Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and Dayton.
Eligibility: Sixth to twelfth graders with basic Chinese
language background.
Time and Place: June 17-30 (M-F, 9:00am-4:30pm) at four
sites (Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati area,
Shaker Heights High School in Cleveland area, Miami
Valley School in Dayton, and Metro High School in
Columbus).
Student Recruitment: Submit completed application forms
to your Chinese language teacher, or mail it to: 2941
Kenny Road, Suite 110, Columbus OH 43221, by May 15.
(Total recruitment for the four camps: 90 students.)
Benefits: Two weeks of learning Chinese at no cost,
including lunch (a small registration fee is required to
cover T-shirt and material); immersion experience with
12 teachers and 20 peer mentors; and graduation
certificate from the OSU K-12 Chinese Flagship Program.
