On August 26, Saturday, 22 biomedical Chinese
faculty and their families at the University of
Pittsburgh held their annual family summer picnic at the
Moraine State Park, 40 miles north from the city of
Pittsburgh, PA. Currently, based on incompletely
counting, there are 53 Chinese faculty members who hold
independent research and teaching positions at the
University of Pittsburgh. Most of them are working at
the various departments at the University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center (UPMC). This was the third annual summer
picnic of this community. The faculty members brought
their families, relatives and delicious home-made
Chinese dishes. The party started around noon and lasted
until 6:00 pm. Senior members of the families had a
chance to chat and children got together to play. The
faculty members also had great time to talk each other,
play games and relax themselves. The goal of such
activities was to enhance the friendship and
communication as well as to have a good, relaxing time
among the faculty members. The annual summer picnic has
been considered as one of the most popular events within
this community. The attached picture is the whole group
who attended this picnic. |
