The “World is coming to Pittsburgh” for the 50th
Annual Pittsburgh Folk Festival to take place on Memorial Day
weekend, Friday-Sunday, May 26-28, 2006.
This spectacular three-day event is at the David L. Lawrence
Convention Center in
Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Pittsburgh Folk Festival represents the “unity in
diversity” of the many ethnic cultures of the Pittsburgh
area. The city’s oldest and largest multicultural event, the
Festival will feature music, dance, food, culture, crafts and
an international bazaar of over 25 ethnic groups.
In addition, school-aged children can attend a special daytime
Multicultural Educational Program to learn about the
diverse ethnic heritages, which built this great city.
Over 10, 000 people are expected to visit for the 50th Annual
Pittsburgh International Folk Festival at the David L.
Lawrence Convention Center during the Memorial Day Weekend Over 25
different ethnic groups will present authentic foods
from around the world, folk crafts & cultural exhibits,
international music & dance and a global shopping bazaar.
Hours of the festival are Friday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.,
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
