phone or appreciate fast Internet access, you can thank Dr. Jennie S.
Hwang personally at Ohio University's undergraduate commencement

Dr. Hwang, the president of the H-Technologies Group and a pioneer for
women in science and business, to give the commencement addresses to
some 4,500 graduates.
Dr. Hwang has been a successful entrepreneur, corporate
executive, adviser, author and speaker over the past 30 years, having
held senior managerial positions with Martin Marietta Corp. (now
Lockheed Martin), SCM Corp. and Sherwin Williams Co., and co-founded
several businesses. A pioneer in the field of surface mount
technology, she helped create technologies related to cell phones,
computers and the environment. She holds several patents and has
authored more than 300 publications.
Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Hwang has served on the boards of
publicly-traded and private companies, was the only woman from Ohio
elected to the National Academy of Engineering and was named one of
Industry Week's R & D Stars to Watch.
Dr. Hwang earned master's degrees from
Columbia University and Kent State University. In 1976, she became the
first woman to earn a doctorate in materials science and engineering
from Case Western Reserve University. |
