2007 North America Chinese Volleyball Tournament - Cleveland, Ohio

When: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, May 27th, 2007 (Sunday, on Memorial Day weekend)

Where: Club Ultimate, 34650 Melinz Pkwy, East Lake, OH, 44095. Map details available at http://maps. yahoo.com/. The gym is located about 10 miles east of Cleveland with easy access to and from both the Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Interstate90 (or Ohio State Route 2).

Division:
Men's Division A: Competitive/ Intermediate skill
Men's Division B: Entry level / recreational skill
Co-ed Division: (maximum three males / minimum three females)
Women's Division: All skill levels

Fee: Before May 1st, 2007 $100 per team (including up to 12 T-shirts), on or after May 1st, 2007, $120 per team. Make check payable to: Cleveland Contemporary Chinese Culture Association (or CCCCA).

Awards: There will be awards for the top three teams of each division.

Lunch: There are a variety of specialty, family, and fast-food restaurants located within one mile radius of the gym. However, Chinese box-lunch will be available at $5.00 each if ordered in advance.

Game Rules:
All players should be of Chinese origin. We will follow the USVBA indoor rulebook (www.usavolleyball.org/RulesOfficials/indoor.asp) www.usavolleyball.org/media/ rulesofficials/06DCR/indoor/2006IndoorDCR.pdf. Rules for CO-ED are adapted from page 117 of the above.

Here are some of the special notes for this tournament.
1. In order to encourage participation and balanced play time, no players should play for more than one team.
2. Three games with 21 rally points each. The winner must have two points differential with a 23 points cap.
3. The first game will be forfeited if the team is 10 minutes late; the whole match is forfeited if the team is 15 minutes late.
4. In Co-ed division, A. There must be three females on the court at all time; B. A female player must touch the ball before the ball goes over the net (except for single hit returns);
5. Teams are expected to perform referee duties as scheduled and please bring your own whistles.
6. The winner of the tournament will be determined by:
A. The total points based the number of matches wins (win=2, lose=1, forfeit=0).
B. If the points are tied, then the ratios of games win/lose.
C. If still tied, then "head-to-head" match winner wins.

Tournament ethic code:
1. Respect all individuals.
2. Refrain from using profane language.
3. Any type of harassment will not be tolerated
4. Refrain from heated argument or rowdiness on court.

Grievance procedure:
Should a participant have a grievance, the following procedures should be followed.
1. First approach and discuss matter with your team captain
2. Referee
3. Event organizing committee
The decision of the event organizing committee is final.
