認識Sensei Jeff
Medina,
Sensei Jeff Burlingame

Sensei Jeff Burlingame
Kyoshi-Nanadan
(7th Degree Black Belt)
Sensei Jeff Burlingame started his training in the
Martial Arts in 1967 at the age of 13 here in Medina. Keeping
with his life long study of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, Sensei
Burlingame has been teaching this form of Karate in the Medina area
since 1969. Having been one of the founding members of the
International Seibukan Karate-Do Association that was formed in 1978
and headed up by Sensei Edward Takae (Tampa, FL), he has been
fortunate enough to be a student directly under Sensei Takae since
1984. Sensei Burlingame has progressed to become the most senior
ranked student of Sensei Takae.
Sensei Burlingame is the owner and chief instructor for Asian
Martial Arts. He is currently teaching the Level I, Level II, and
Level III classes as well as overseeing all operations. In 1989
Sensei Burlingame saw the need for a Martial Arts program structured
for the younger children. With this in mind he developed the “Little
Warriors” Karate class. This class is structured for the 4-7 years
of age. The teachings of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate have been
incorporated with simple games, activities and terminology to make
the learning simple and fun. These classes help build confidence,
increase the child’s self esteem and balance as well as advancing
their motor skill.
Having recently retired from the Medina County
Sheriff’s Office (Detective Sergeant) after 22 years of service,
Sensei Burlingame is now concentrating his efforts in continuing the
teachings of this traditional form of Okinawan Karate.
With this experience, Sensei Burlingame brings to
this program one that is both functional as well as traditional for
all ages. The classes are structured the same as in Okinawa as
prescribed by the late great Sensei Zenryo Shimabukuro who founded
the Seibukan Dojo (Holy Art School) in Chatan-Cho, Okinawa. Sensei
