Year 2008 winner of the Dr. Jennie S. Hwang Award

Rachel Shi has won the highly competitive Dr. Jennie S. Hwang Award. She was recognized at the YWCA Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon on May 12, 2008 in The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel Grand Ballroom, more than 1200 in the audience.
Rachel Shi is a sophomore student at Baldwin Wallace College, majoring in Physics and pre-Engineering with minor in Business Administrant.
About the Award:
     The YWCA Greater Cleveland established the Dr. Jennie S. Hwang Award in 2002 to encourage women to pursue sciences, engineering and technology-related eductions and professions.
     The Award is named in honor of Dr. Hwang. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be full-time students in good standing in the science, engineering or technology-related disciplines offered at designated universities. The selection criteria include well-rounded performance, outstanding community involvement and academic achievement.
     In addition to the wide recognition, the winner receives a monetary prize of $2000. Dr. Hwang will personally present this Award at the YWCA Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon.


About Dr. Jennie S. Hwang
     Dr. Jennie Hwang's work is highlighted by numerous national and international awards and honors. She is an international businesswoman, worldwide speaker, prolific author, corporate director, university trustee and community leader.
     Dr. Hwang's career span across both corporate America and entrepreneurial businesses. In her 30-year wide-ranging, lustrous career, Dr. Hwang has contributed to three arenas - business, technology and academia. She has given keynotes and lectures for many national and international events on emerging technologies and global market thrusts, and is also a prolific author and speaker on education, diversity, workforce, trade and business issues.
