Let the Games Go On Let the Spirits Shine

Hi My dear friends,
You may have noticed China is being mentioned a lot currently in variety of media forms, most are associated with protestors, riots, Tibet, China, Dalai Lama, Olympics torch relay and more. Let me remind you, my dear friends that there’s far more to what the US and European media is broadcasting on the screens and newspapers, as we know that ALL pictures and articles are all filtered and edited by human hands and minds, often times what the minds are thinking or like to believe have a critical power over how the pictures and articles are used to reflect. I sincerely ask you to please keep an open mind to the current happenings and the world’s response to ALL sides, letting more perspectives and puzzle pieces into your mind and allow judgment to form in a not hasty manner, so you will see fuller pictures that reflect the bigger pictures as well as the on-the-spot moments. From our career and life experiences we know that we all live in a world that far more times things are not just what they seem in the surface,, if we use detective skills and keep digging into the real truth, we keep learning more about the happenings, and that things could be far more complicated or misled as in forming and varied stages in progression.
I think the protestors should have the right to peacefully demonstrate in a non- violent manner to ALL folks in the area, I think any country and government should have its right maintaining certain order in an area in human and democratic manner. Please bear in mind that “democracy” is a cultural thing and regardless of many forms and faces it takes, we need to lock in our focus in what it benefits local, regional and global community, allowing regions, countries and government reasonable time to evolve. I do encourage groups and organizations to actively uncover channels tactfully for positive interaction and peaceful resolution with the authorities while I do not think it’s a wise move for any organization or groups to achieve political agenda or attract attention by acts that disrupt an international event and being violent. According to China ’s spokesperson, the police in Tibet received strict orders to not to use weapons nor fight back in any form to protestors in Tibet . In the series of protests in Tibet , the most injured are armless innocent civilians and tourists. A lot of pictures and European and US TV showings of police beating up protestors are NOT Chinese police – identified by information in the pictures such as the uniforms the police wear, the characters and marking in the pictures, etc.
I pray for peace for ALL people in Tibet . I pray for better protection and upkeep of Tibetan culture as it’s going onto the future and higher life standard for ALL people in Tibet . I pray for peaceful resolution /conversation between China and Dalai Lama soon to start and lead to meaningful progress. I pray that Chinese government will show more genuine compassion to the interests of people. I pray for a wonderful international athletic and cultural gathering experience for the 2008 Olympics that truly reflects Olympic spirits for ALL people and countries in the global village.
The Olympic Games belongs to the world and ALL its folks, it’s an international event.
Please let the Olympics spirit shine, let the games go on.
Peace and Love to ALL,

庞林 Lin Pang
