浦瑛開講:紐約再會老朋友

   10年後的相逢,是朋友交流碰出火花:未來政治經濟,文化藝術,宗敎哲學,科技人文,健康敎育, 這是世紀復興!

   10月24日我再此到匹兹堡詩人黃翔曾經住過的房子,這屋子已經成了古迹,是黃翔夫婦留下的財富,走進這條小街,許多房子都有藝術家留下他們作品,滿街楓葉再度讓我找到心靈的平靜,我想起我那一年認識黃翔的情景。
   由於伊利華報在匹兹堡剛剛開展業務,我需要找一些當地華人社區的名人作採訪,我到網站上去找了匹兹堡知名人士,這就樣我認識了黃翔和他的太太張玲。記得我第一次和黃翔通話,他問我害怕他的歷史嗎?我説您的過去我不知道,那已經是過去的事,我知道您現在是匹兹堡名人,市政府給您這么高的榮譽。現在每年11月21日定爲黃翔日。

   這次我們紐約相逢 黃翔詩歌創作又大跨越了一步:現在是宇宙人體,大詩人的超前思維,讓我們一起聊了10個小時,我聽着他們的創意和他們對未來的想法。

   他們吿訴我;1979年,他們曾經給卡特總統寫信並且畫了像,今年卡特99歲,黃翔夫婦希望能實現他們的夢想,這是他們給卡特寫的中英文信:
   We would like to wish President Carter a happy 99th birthday with the portrait of President Carter in the large-scale East-West art cooperation “The Century Mountain Project"!
   我們謹以東西方合作的大型藝術計畫「世紀的群山」之卡特總統肖像敬祝卡特總統99歲生日快樂!

To us you are not only a president but also an ordinary American citizen and an ordinary
person among the broad masses of people on earth.
Today, January 1st , 1979, is a memorable and historic date. It is the date when China and the United States, our great country and your great country,have established formal diplomatic relations. With the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States,the
strong desire which has long existed between the peoples of the two countries has been realized. Diplomatic relations have opened wide the door for the promotion of friendship,cooperation,and understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Human rights is a traditional term to the American people, and we have noticed the brilliance of these two words from the earliest Declaration of Independence of the United States up to President Carter's recent speeches. Whether to the Chinese people or the American people or the people of any other country in the world, "human rights" have the same significance. On this planet where
mankind lives together there is no distinction as to race,nation,or state boundaries regarding human rights. They are the common desire of all the progressive peoples of our time.

   你不只是一個總統,也是一個普通的美國公民,地球上廣大人群中一個平常的人!
   今天是一九七九年元月一日,是個有歷史意義的値得紀念的日子。 是中國和美國、我們偉大的國家和你們偉大的國家正式建交的日子。 中美建交實現了兩國人民長久以來的強烈願望;為我們兩國人民之間的友誼、合作和瞭解打開了廣闊的門戶。
   人權在今天的美國人民心目中是個傳統的字眼,從美國最早的獨立宣言和卡特總統最近的講話,我們都注意到這兩個字的閃光。 人權不管是對中國人或美國人和世界上其他國家的人民都具有同等重要的意義。在人類共同生活的這個星球上,它沒有種族、民族、國家的區別的,它是我們時代全體人類共同的願望和渴望。

   (註:原文《致卡特總統》為黃翔以「公民」的筆名寫作,發表於1979年1月1日北京的「民主牆運動」。這是第一次向國際社會談論共產中國鐵幕後的人權問題,具有非凡的歷史意義,作者黃翔為此付出入獄的代價。)

   黃翔一生追求詩歌藝術,他是一個寬容和理解的人,我採訪他的時候,他曾經十分感嘅地説:我全身都流着熱愛中國人的血液,他還將他的二排肋骨比做一條是黃河,一條是長江,人們評價他是二十世紀中國文學史上的活化石。
   黃翔的詩歌體現了文化藝術的復興,中西文化沒有距離,中國的書法和西洋畫融合一起,都將被認同,他們是創新,中西藝術文化精髓合併交融。黃翔讓越來越多的外國人接觸和瞭解中國文化,本報要讓越來越多的人瞭解這位詩人,感謝他在宣傳和弘揚中國文化上所作的貢獻.期待我們的合作能成功!
