浦瑛開講:CCWA隆重舉辦百年慶祝活動

   年輕的克利夫蘭市長,他也感謝協會給克利夫蘭帶來不同族裔的人,協會把克利夫蘭介紹給世界,他本人也有體會。他在求學期間,可以有機會去台灣學習和生活,社區協會團體帶給人們積極的生活態度,提高學習的效率,對人生充滿信心和希望。
   CCWA 成立于 1923 年,目標是促進克利夫蘭公民更好地瞭解世界發生的事情,協會理念是更好地理解國際動態,將有助于促進世界和平。

   一個世紀以來,克利夫蘭CCWA協會一直在促進克利夫蘭地區參與國際活動,CCWA爲大家提供一系列項目,提供國際事務敎育,該協會的使命是讓俄亥俄州東北部的社區參與進來,以更好地瞭解國際關係和全球問題及其對我們地區的影響。他們舉辦系列演講、國際訪問者計劃、模擬聯合國和靑年交流計劃,理事會已成爲該地區領先的世界事務論壇。

   CCWA 協會的外交政策論壇將國家主題專家、政府官員和外交官帶到克利夫蘭,探討相關和及時的地緣政治話題。我曾經參加今年3月14日CCWA協會在Union Club舉辦的演講:由2位榮獲2023總統international woman of a courage 奬的獲奬者演講,一位是來自馬來西亞的Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi ,還有一位是central Africa republic professor Daniele Darlan.演講讓人感動, 給人鼓勵,這場演講讓我眼睛一亮,讓我知道這個世界上還有這么優秀的人,如果你常常與優秀的人在一起,你自己也會變得優秀,因爲她們會改變你的認知,給您榜樣做一個智慧的人。
   她們倆不同背景,二人十分平易近人,她們分享她們的生活工作成長的背景,我們非常幸運,CCWA協會把這么智慧的女人介紹給我們,她倆提醒我們敎育是一個人最重要的事。

   CCWA協會本屆主席是Carina Van Vliet,她熱情大方,她認眞聽取大家的意見和建議,這次參加慶祝活動的有不少克利夫蘭藝術家,大家討論如何讓藝術家才華服務克利夫蘭。這次100年慶祝活動從大會到小會建議分享,效果顯著,我在會上也表示:克利夫蘭歷史悠久,早期克利夫蘭洛克菲勒帶領一批人從克利夫蘭出發,他們幫助建設中國的敎育和醫院,在中美形勢複雜的當下,克利夫蘭有CCWA協會,有Global Cleveland ,還有其它社區團體,像Middleton 等等都爲克利夫蘭已經做出許多貢獻。

   最後克利夫蘭Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne做閉幕演講,他表示:美國是全球移民的家園,每一個人都帶着夢想,建設自己的生活家園,他拿了一張50年前他父親的公司支票:當年父親拿了支票就去超市購物,當超市收銀員知道父親購買這么多食物要做不同的公車回家,就把車鑰匙給了我父親,説把東西送回家以後再把車還我….過後超市收銀員也娶了我們的家人。
   CCWA協會每年還舉辦全球影響力奬表彰,其領導力促進了全球理解與合作。再次感謝CCWA 協會百年來給克利夫蘭帶來新氣息。

“Cleveland and the World: The Multi-Sector Benefits of International Engagement and Inclusion”Why: The results of the 2021 Global Cities Report by A.T. Kearney, a global consulting firm, showed that the cities with the greatest global connectivity were best positioned for post-pandemic recovery because their international character and connections increased their resiliency and helped these cities rebuild and adapt to a changed environment.
What: The forum’s purpose is to deepen our shared understanding of how being globally connected benefits greater Cleveland across four highlighted sectors, and to discuss opportunities to strengthen our international engagement and inclusion. CCWA will record discussions and produce a summary of key takeaways from the collective wisdom shared.
