Week in Review:
COVID-19 Updates from Cleveland City Hall

Dear Clevelanders,
This week, I held my 2021 virtual Managers Budget Meeting where I discussed challenges that the City of Cleveland faced in 2020 and shared the 2021 budget estimates with the City’s management teams in departments throughout the City. In addition, we livestreamed the 2021 Managers Budget Meeting on the City of Cleveland Facebook page. Click here to watch. To view the 2021 budget estimate document, click here.
The 2021 City of Cleveland Black History Month celebration kicks off on Monday, Feb. 1 at noon with a virtual opening ceremony. This year’s theme, “Strengthening Black Families Through the Quest for Equity and Equality,” celebrates the contributions and achievements made by residents and leaders in the Black community with a series of virtual events. All of these virtual events are free and open to the public.
Each year, our Black History Month celebration serves to recognize Cleveland’s long-standing history of Black leadership and honor Black individuals who contribute to our city’s legacy of cultural diversity and equality. We continue this tradition by celebrating the men and women of the Black community who strive to make Cleveland a great place to live, work, play and do businesses, for our residents and their families.
Some of the events, though virtual, offer Facebook Live viewers the opportunity to interact with panelists by asking questions in the comments. Click here to view a calendar of events. Please note that some events will be livestreamed to Facebook and some will be available to the public via WebEx, though registration is required via Eventbrite. To participate in Facebook events, visit the City of Cleveland Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CityofCleveland. To join the opening ceremony, click here.
I want to remind you all that the pandemic is not over. As we continue our plan to distribute COVID-19 vaccines, I urge you to remain vigilant by washing your hands, maintaining six feet of social distance, staying home whenever possible and wearing a mask. To listen to an important message on the coronavirus and vaccines, click here.
Thank you and stay safe,

Frank G. Jackson, Mayor
City of Cleveland
