Dear
Clevelanders,
Happy New Year! The past year has introduced new challenges and has
forced us to adapt to new realities. As we celebrate the new year, I
want to remind you all that the pandemic is not over. While there is
news regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, we must remain cautious and
continue to do our part to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
This week, I hosted a virtual tele town hall event during
which I and members of the Cleveland Department of Public Health
discussed the pandemic, the coronavirus vaccine and prevention
efforts and answered questions from residents. To listen to audio of
the event, click here. Last week, the City of Cleveland administered
the first vaccines to first responders as part of the Phase 1A
rollout. To view video of the first vaccinations, click here.
I ask that you continue to avoid large gatherings for the health
and safety of your family and friends. Remember to wear a mask, wash
your hands frequently, maintain six feet of social distancing and
stay home whenever possible. Together, we can slow the spread of
COVID-19 in 2021.
Thank you and stay safe,
Frank G. Jackson, Mayor
City of Cleveland
