Help us provide language access

Global Cleveland has been working steadily to provide language access for our international community members whose English is a learning language. It is important to provide our international friends and family access to important public health information.
We have activated our network of volunteers to provide translations of simple messages from Governor DeWine’s office, Ohio’s Department of Public Health, the CDC, Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland.
Global Cleveland has been able to activate an incredible team of volunteers within the international community to provide translation for Cleveland and the surrounding area.
While our translators have been nothing short than amazing, we understand they are providing our organization and their community with a much-need service, even while they are working remotely, homeschooling their children and worrying about their family. We are so grateful for their assistance during these challenging times.
We would like to begin compensating our translators as we anticipate the need for language access to only increase over the coming months. Although we appreciate their volunteerism, our need keeps increasing. Already we have been asked by other organizations in Cleveland to help translate their material.
Right now, we can translate COVID-19 public health information in the following languages: Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Albanian, French, Nepali, Arabic, Mandarin, Romanian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Swahili, Croatian, Japanese and Somali as well as many others. We also would like to expand into other languages to be representative of all the communities in Greater Cleveland and surrounding area.
Access to critical public health information from trusted sources is a significant factor in helping stop the spread of this terrible disease. We ask that you please consider making a special gift to Global Cleveland to help us continue to provide language access resources to keep all of our international community informed, so everyone stays safe and healthy.
Please join us this Friday, April 3rd at noon for a Facebook Live discussion with me about Global Cleveland's efforts surrounding language access.
Wishing you continued good health,

Joe Cimperman
