Readers,
I had the great pleasure of attending the 2019 Women’s Day and
Membership Drive Banquet hosted by the Chinese Women Association of
Cleveland, held at Bo Loong in Cleveland on March 23, 2019. An
evening of cultural enrichment, the traditional song and dance
performed was a feast for the senses as well as the soul. From the
first sweet strains of the flute to the last performance combining
the traditional with today, I was captivated by the beauty, grace
and sublime energy of the performers. The costuming was magnificent
and the delicate swirling blue ombre designs worn in “Bathing in
Heaven” captured the magical essence of dreamy living amidst the sky
and clouds.
Promoting traditional virtues, this family event was attended by
people of all ages and the performances by the children were
especially heartwarming. The banquet served by Bo Loong was both
delicious and fostered an appreciation of sharing as each
exceptional course was brought to the tables.
Billy Huang, visiting from New York, kindly taught me a few phrases
in the Chinese language and I am so grateful to Pu Ying for inviting
me to this event. I offer my warm congratulations and thanks to the
organizers of this event, for they surely achieved their goal of
preserving traditional values and infusing love throughout the
hearts of all in attendance.
