我爱中国新年。It was so fun in 5th and 6th grade
to watch, but to participate in 中国新年 was three times the fun. I got
to see how fun it was to participate in something that most people
in Akron even Ohio don’t get to do. I liked performing in 中国新年。I
also liked to see how everything came together.
It was amazing to see how all the hard work everyone put in to their
performances. I know a lot of people who performed and tried very
hard to put all their effort in to their performances. I also liked
to show 我的爸爸、妈妈、姐姐和朋友 all the things the performers worked hard for
and put effort in. Also to show how lucky I am to be able to take
Chinese and go to STEM Middle School.
I also have a lot of gratitude for Coach Liang. She puts a lot of
time, money and effort into 中国新年. Not only to teach learners about
中国新年, but also to share the experience/holiday with her STEM Middle
School Family. She does all of this to help her learners to learn
more about the traditions and history behind 中国新年。She does a lot
just so we can experience this holiday and to show us the difference
between our New Year traditions and Chinese traditions.
All in all, I think it is awesome to celebrate 中国新年 at our school.
It not only is a learning experience, but also gives 5th and 6th
graders something to look forward to. I know in 5th and 6th grade I
couldn't wait to participate and take Chineseclasses. When you
perform and you showcase everything you’ve been working hard for,
trying to be perfect, and trying to show what you can do. Getting
that feeling that you’ve made it and that you did your best and you
finished strong. It was a great experience and I can’t wait for next
year.

Dear Coach Liang,
I just want to congratulate you and team along with the leadership
of STEM Middle school for the spectacular Chinese New Year event
held yesterday, at the school great hall.
It was the best so far that I had attended over the years. You
raised the bar higher each year.
No doubt, you are unique, one of the extraordinary coach of STEM, an
asset to the stakeholder of NIHF STEM and APS, as well as a worthy
ambassador of Chinese culture.
Thank you for the wonderful work you have done and still doing to
promote cultural awareness.

大家好!我叫林美。
我上STEM高中。我的中文老师是梁老师。上个星期二月十五日,阿克伦STEM中学和STEM高中一起过中国新年。中学生和高中学生一起做很多的东西。STEM中国新年有唱歌、跳舞、舞狮和舞龙、说唱脸谱、功夫、tongue
twister, poem reciting和Chinese Dress Fashion Show。STEM中国新年还有红包。如果学生们会回答问题,老师会给他们红包。中国新年祝贺以后我们吃了很多的中国菜。比如说我们吃了白米饭、饺子、炒饭、炒面、大包、左公鸡、酸甜鸡和中国炸土豆。
我觉得中国新年比美国新年有意思。因为中国新年吃的东西都有意思。中国有十二生肖。今年是狗年。因为中国人喜欢红色和黄色,所以我们decorate
学校。过中国新年很有意思。我不但学中国文化,而且看漂亮的跳舞。过新年很好玩儿。
虽然我是缅甸和泰国裔美国人,但是我更爱学中文。老师教我很多的中文。我非常喜欢过中国新年。因为梁老师是我的老师,所以我可以过中国新年。别的老师们、同学们和家人都很高兴。谢谢梁老师!您辛苦了。

你们好!我叫方凯丽。我上STEM中学八年级。二零一八年STEM中学中国新年是二月十五日。今年是狗年。七年级和八年级学生都学中文。The
event showcased the knowledge of traditional Chinese culture and
language they have acquired. The performance included dances, tongue
twisters, and songs, presentations of the zodiacs, a fashion show,
poem reciting, and more. 我的外公、外婆、爸爸、妈妈和姐姐都来看我。Many other families
attended to see the performances. 我的朋友和我唱中国歌:“国家”. I was also part
of the Jasmine Flower and Umbrella Dance. Furthermore, I presented a
tongue twister alongside a few of my classmates. Students also
decorated the school building, using their knowledge of Chinese
culture to provide a traditional atmosphere.
我们学中国人最喜欢红色和黄色。我们也学中国人喜欢吃面条、饺子、春卷、鱼和桔子。我们学中国有十二生肖。Therefore, the
school was full of red and yellow, and was filled with lanterns,
couplets, and posters. This was my last year participating in the
event, and it was an experience I will never forget. It would have
never been possible without my teacher, Coach Liang, because she
spent so much time and effort organizing the costume arrangements,
providing music for the dances, grading decoration projects, and
overseeing the performance herself. Liang老师是最好的老师,我爱我的老师!新年好!
