中西合璧 歡慶NEON 47周年

 

(本報訊) 10月11日晩,NorthEast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc (NEON)在Landerhaven舉辦 Jazz In The Garden 大型活動,慶祝NEON建立47周年,主辦者請來了爵士樂隊在晩餐前後做高水準的演奏,並有中西美食供來賓享有。當天晩上,來自社會各界的嘉賓多達350以上,當日Neon爲克城市長 Frank Jackson以及華人著名黃唯律師頒奬,他們都是爲克利夫蘭做出杰出貢獻的人。
       NEON 建立于1967年,是一家爲東北俄亥俄居民提供服務的健康醫療機構,目前他們在大克利夫蘭地區已經有6家診所,下一個計劃是在唐人街開一家診所,兩年前,他們便與伊利華報聯繫,表達了合作的願望。所以這一次NEON做47周年慶祝活動,伊利華報和環球華人服務公司給予了大力的支持,購買了圓桌,邀請了伊利華報的新老朋友,當日來自中國雲南喜林苑的負責人Frank Ho,也參加了活動。
      當天晩上,來自華人社區的表演成爲晩宴間的一項主要娛樂內容。首先登場的是克利夫蘭美華協會的活力十足的舞龍表演,由15個人組成的長“龍”在鏗鏘有力的鼓點節奏中或騰躍,或滾動,或盤起,或穿揷,不斷地展示扭曲、翻滾、跳躍、搖擺等多種姿勢,贏得滿堂喝彩。


    來自哥倫布Amy Ho表演了中國名族扇子舞蹈和高森表演的精彩的的中國武術還有來自賓州的張茅昌的川劇變臉、張琳娜的古箏演奏。還有來自明日之星技巧舞蹈藝術中心的小朋友,其中有的才剛滿兩歲三歲,剛一上場拉開姿勢,大家就掌聲一片。


      在晩宴開始前近一個小時的時間里,整個大廳回蕩着中國音樂,一片熱鬧喜慶,仿彿是在慶賀中國新年。在場的美國朋友説,這是我第一次這么近距離觀看中國功夫和舞龍表演,過去只在電影里見過。演出結束後,組織者向華人社區致以感謝,華報社長浦瑛也表示希望早日在克城唐人街看到NEON。
     NEON計劃在中國城開設一家診所,它將會有利于克里夫蘭的經濟,同時也會給克城的亞裔民衆帶來方便。預祝唐人街NEON Asia 診所早日問世。


NEON簡介
NEON is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) network of community health centers dedicated to improving access to health care and reducing health disparities in Greater Cleveland.
NEON’s mission is to provide quality, personalized and family-oriented comprehensive health care services to Northeast Ohio residents at reasonable cost, with professional, dedicated employees, while employing the most current health care practices that are responsive to community needs for prevention and treatment of disease.
NEON provides primary care services including family medicine, adult medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynecology. Behavioral health and dental services are offered at most of our health center sites. On-site ancillary services include: laboratory, pharmacy, x-ray, mammography, and ultrasound. Patients have access to services seven days a week through extended evening and weekend hours.
NEON is governed by a Board of Trustees that includes consumers of services and other concerned citizens in the health, civic and legal fields. NEON has maintained Joint Commission accreditation for over 45 years.


NEON accepts a number of payment arrangements for services including Medicare and Medicaid. Managed Care Plans include CareSource, Buckeye Community Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare, Molina Healthcare, and Paramount. NEON also accepts Medical Mutual of Ohio, Anthem BC/BS, CIGNA and other commercial insurance plans. Services are also available on a sliding fee scale, incorporating patient’s income and family size. The event had over 350 attendees including Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson along with many other distinguished guests such as Grammy Award winning Pianist Angelin Chang, and OCA Board Member Ray Hing who flew in from California for the event. Three Jazz bands provided entertainment before and after dinner, whereas some of the area's best Asian performance groups kept the audience entertained during the dinner. Kicking off the Asian performances was the OCA Cleveland Asian American Advocates who provided a spectacular traditional Chinese Dragon Dance. Rising Star Acrobatics provided delightful dance and acrobatic routines. Other Asian dances and Martial

The event had over 350 attendees including Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson along with many other distinguished guests such as Grammy Award winning Pianist Angelin Chang, and OCA Board Member Ray Hing who flew in from California for the event. Three Jazz bands provided entertainment before and after dinner, whereas some of the area's best Asian performance groups kept the audience entertained during the dinner. Kicking off the Asian performances was the OCA Cleveland Asian American Advocates who provided a spectacular traditional Chinese Dragon Dance. Rising Star Acrobatics provided delightful dance and acrobatic routines.
