Representatives from the OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates

 

Representatives from the OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates - Greater Cleveland Chapter attended the OCA National Convention in Los Angeles, CA held August 8-10, 2014. OCA Greater Cleveland was honored with two "Emerging Chapter" Excellence Awards for "Programs and Projects" and "Community Building." Representing OCA Cleveland were President Lisa Wong, VP Wayne Wong, and Senior Member and Advocate Anthony Yen. The awards recognize OCA Cleveland's efforts to advance the interests of all Asian and Pacific Islander Americans with programs such as OCA Image TV Ohio, Asiatown Voice weekly radio show, Scholarships, Civic and Community involvement, support of Cleveland Asian Festival as well as many other projects in the community. The National Convention Gala had over 600 attendees and honored World Reknown celebrities with Awards such as Congresswoman Judy Chu, Veteran Hollywood Actor James Hong who has been acting for over 60 years, Actress Ming-Na Wen from Joy Luck Club and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Actor Daniel Dae Kim from Lost and Hawaii-5-O, and 103 Year old Disney "Legend" artist Tyrus Wong.
