凱斯西儲大學醫學院與中國合作開展醫學敎硏

    在太平洋的另一頭,日益富裕的中國人正在越來越適應西方的飲食和生活方式,醫學院的硏究人員正在硏究這些變化對健康的影響。”亞洲提供了一個可以眞正理解象癌症和心血管病等疾病的病因的機會之窗,因爲中國人的生活方式正在發生巨大改變,”來自大學醫院凱斯醫療中心的醫學敎授,家庭醫學醫生,醫學博士.哲學博士,公共衛生碩士李涅這么説。
    與中國上海閘北區衛生局合作,醫學院的敎授們正在進行的規模最大的隊列硏究之一以追踪中國城市文化中代謝綜合徵的發展進程和其它慢性疾病的發展進程。
    由李搆思設計的這一硏究已從48,000各年齡閘北居民收集了基線數據.他們收集了有關生活方式和風險因素的調查數據,進行了身體檢查和擬人測量,採集了血液樣本的血清/血漿,收集了22,000,年齡至少35歲參加者的DNA從而建立了一個爲中國城市健康硏究,衛生保健服務的生物寶庫.
   這項硏究將會評估疾病的演變與基因,中國傳統飲食、醫藥和生活方式的變化,以及與西方習俗影響的關係。通過跟踪兩代或三代,李將認知到當活躍的居民走向更慣于久坐的不活動的生活習慣和更不健康的飲食習慣從生物學的角度,會發生什么。”這項硏究是一金礦的信息,”李説。

My name is LiLi. I am doing with Zhabei District Health Bureau - this 10-year study will follow up 48,000 people randomly selected from Zhabei District to investigate how lifestyle changes and westernization in the Chinese population may affect chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. In 2010, the Case School of Medicine has signed a 10-year agreement with Zhabei District Health Bureau to jointly work on this large cohort study.
Also as part of this initiative, Case School of Medicine has established a Medical Student Exchange Program with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, and Fudan University School of Public Health, Shanghai. Each year, the Chinese Universities will send 4-8 students to Case School of Medicine for a 2-month study here at Case, and Case send students to each Chinese Universities for a 2-month study. The program is aimed to train next-generation physicians both in China and United States that are culturally sensitive and competent in providing medical care to the Chinese population in China and United States. Eight students from China have completed this program in 2011 and 2012, and 3 Case School of Medicine medical students have just completed their 2-month rotations in China.
