"Welcoming Who?
Are We Still Afraid of Immigrants?"

April 19, Thursday
Tri-C West Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road, Parma,
12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
For more info,
contact 440-885-2489.

Because of your expertise, extensive community involvement, or interest in making Greater Cleveland an "immigrant-friendly" city, I hope you will attend and participate.
To give you an idea how the event will go, I will start off with a 20-minute powerpoint on Global Detroit, Global Dayton, Global Philly, and Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians (Philly)
The Panel (described below) will react to the presentation, engage in robust conversation about these bold initiatives in other cities, and what Cleveland and Cuyahoga County might learn from them.
Audience participation will follow.
PANEL MODERATOR
Dona Brady, Councilmember, Cleveland City Council
PANELISTS
Johnathan Holifield, Co-founder and Chief Evangelist, America21
Radhika Reddy, Partner, Ariel Ventures, LLC
Roberto Torres, Former Economic Development Director, City of Canton, and now
President of T & R Group, LLC in Cleveland
Derek Ng, China Great Lakes Innovation, LLC
In anticipation of this event, please keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Op-Ed in Cleveland Crains by Roberto Torres and myself, with the title (you guessed it): "Welcoming Who? Are We Still Afraid of Immigrants?"
Look forward to seeing you on 4/19, and if you can't make that, then join me and many others at the Hispanic Leadership Conference on 4/21, Saturday, in Lorain.
Thanks!
Regards,
richard
