Local foundations support ASIA’s youth & early childhood education programs

AKRON - Asian Services In Action (ASIA) is pleased to announce three grants from Akron Community Foundation, its Vernon L. Odom Fund, and GAR Foundation to support its youth and early childhood education programs.
Akron Community Foundation awarded $12,500 to ASIA’s READY (Readiness through Expanded Acculturation Development of Immigrant/Refugee Youth) Program, which helps immigrant and refugee parents maximize their children’s developmental and academic success.
GAR Foundation and Akron Community Foundation’s Vernon L. Odom Fund both awarded grants to ASIA’s International Community Empowerment Project (ICEP), an after-school program for at-risk immigrant and refugee children. GAR Foundation committed $40,000 to ICEP’s general operating costs, while the Vernon L. Odom Fund donated $1,000 for ICEP students to plan and organize their own International Festival Day.
ASIA thanks these local foundations for their generous support of our community’s youth and families.
