Who Should Apply?
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking for people who want to earn money
while they serve their community. Persons who are currently employed
can schedule census work around their current employment. Retirees,
students, and people who are not currently employed are also urged
to apply. Local residents will be hired to work in local census
offices, and as crew leaders and census takers in the community.
Applicants should not have had a conviction other than a minor
traffic violation since age 18 and should not be currently employed
as a tax collector/assessor or law enforcement official. Men born
after 12/31/59 must be registered with selective service.
Additionally, applicants must take a written test of basic skills
(the FESAT-G) and pass a security check. The U.S. Census Bureau is
an equal opportunity employer.
