New Projects Expected to Create 1,600 Jobs,

More Than $2.5 Billion in Investments

 
(COLUMBUS, Ohio) –Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for 11 projects set to create 1,636 new jobs and retain 1,715 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $141 million in new payroll and spur more than $2.5 billion in investments across Ohio.
Projects approved by the TCA include:
CENTRAL
Quality Technology Services; QTS NAL TX I, LLC; QTS New Albany I, LLC, city of New Albany (Licking County), expects to create 10 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in New Albany. QTS is a leading provider of data center solutions, serving clients across industries such as retail, technology, and financial services. TCA approved a 100%, 15-year Data Center Tax Exemption for this project.
WEST
Technicote, Inc., city of Trotwood (Montgomery County), expects to create 163 full-time positions, generating $9.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $5.7 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Trotwood. Technicote is a manufacturer of roll label stock, with products including high-quality sensitive roll label materials, silicone-coated release liners, films and foils, servicing the roll converter market and supply chain industries. The proposed project includes leasing a new manufacturing facility to accommodate the attainment of new equipment and technology to allow the company to focus on industry and employment growth. TCA approved a 1.594%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Two Six Labs, LLC, city of Kettering (Montgomery County), expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $10 million in new annual payroll and retaining $200,000 in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Kettering. Two Six Labs is a technology company dedicated to providing products and expertise to national security customers, focusing on solving cyber, information operations, electronic systems, analytics, and secure solutions. The proposed project includes the acquisition of a facility that will support office and lab space to delivery services and perform research and development for customers nationally. TCA approved a 2.211%, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHEAST
Ball, Bounce and Sport, Inc., city of Mansfield (Richland County), and city of Ashland (Ashland County) expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $2.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.7 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Mansfield and Ashland. Ball, Bounce, and Sport is the logistics and distribution company for Hedstrom, headquartered in Ashland. Hedstrom is a 100-year-old company and one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of children’s toys and play and sports balls. The proposed project includes the expansion of their current facility for additional production and distribution. TCA approved a 1.346%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHWEST
Keller Logistics Group, Inc.; Keller Industrial Properties, LLC; Keller Warehousing & Co-Packing, LLC; Thomas E. Keller Trucking, LLC; Keller Logistics, LLC, Noble Township (Defiance County), expects to create 194 full-time positions, generating $19 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9.9 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Noble Township. Keller is a logistics company with a focus on trucking, warehousing, freight brokerage, and co-packing of projects that supports a large customer base across industries such as transportation and food industry. The proposed expansion includes the acquisition of a vacant 30,000-square-foot commercial office building to house their professional staff and expand operations. TCA approved a 2.074%, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Valencia Project LLC, Salem Township (Wyandot County), expects to create 114 full-time positions, generating $9.1 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Salem Township. Valencia is a merchant and processor of agricultural goods to a broad range of businesses, manufacturing products such as food and feed solutions, coffee, cotton, grains, oilseeds, and sugar. The proposed project includes the construction and operation of a soybean plant to allow Valencia to be near raw materials and customers. TCA approved a 1.54%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Mobis US Electrified Powertrain LLC, city of Toledo (Lucas County), expects to create 185 full-time positions, generating $9.5 million in new annual payroll, as a result of the company’s new location in Toledo. Mobis is a Michigan-based company that specialized in manufacturing of metal battery base plates for the electric vehicle industry. The proposed project includes the acquisition of a facility to house production space for manufacturing base plates for numerous EV models. TCA approved a 1.486%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
SOUTHWEST
Resilience US, Inc., West Chester Township (Butler County), expects to create 274 full-time positions, generating $18.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $27.2 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in West Chester Township. Resilience is a biomanufacturing company specializing in the production of novel medicine. The proposed project includes the renovation of their current facility to operate more effectively for increased production staff to further their goal of implementing efficient manufacturing processes and supply chain solutions to improve access to their pharmaceuticals and therapies. TCA approved a 1.9%, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Worldpay, LLC, Symmes Township (Hamilton County), expects to create 529 full-time positions, generating $56.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $93 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Symmes Township. Worldpay is a financial technology group that equips businesses with a point of sale and online payment processing capabilities. The proposed project would establish Worldpay’s headquarters in Southwest Ohio. TCA approved a 2.389%, 15-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
CyrusOne Management Services LLC; C1 Cincinnati – North Cincinnati LLC, city of Lebanon (Warren County), expects to create 10 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.9 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Lebanon. CyrusOne is a leading global data center developer and operator specializing in delivering state-of-the-art digital infrastructure solutions across the globe. TCA approved a 75%, 10-year Data Center Tax Exemption for this project.
Premier Global Transportation, LLC, Miami Township (Clermont County), expects to create 42 full-time positions, generating $3.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.9 million in existing payroll, as a result of the company’s expansion project in Miami Township. Premier Global Transportation provides customized shipping solutions for a variety of industries across North America with their temperature-controlled freight services. The proposed project includes the renovation of their current office space to provide additional usable square footage to support existing and new employees. TCA approved a 1.594%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
