   5000年歷史,孕育出五彩斑斕的中華文明。漢字,作爲其中最燦爛的篇章,將華夏民族的精彩傳播到全世界。
   Five thousand years of history have fostered the vibrant Chinese civilization. Chinese characters, as the most magnificent chapter of this civilization, have brought the brilliance of Chinese culture to the world.


  Chinese Puzzle——“中國迷題”,是西方對中國傳統益智玩具的統稱。七巧板、九連環、孔明鎖……和這些玩具一樣,學習中文,這門被譽爲世界上最難的語言,何嘗不是一道“中國迷題”?
   Chinese Puzzle is a collective term westerners used for traditional Chinese toys, such as tangram, nine-linked ring, and kongming lock. And just like those toys, learning Chinese, the world's most difficult language, can also be seen as a "Chinese puzzle."

   紀録片《Chinese Puzzle--我在美國學中文》即將與您在哥倫布市見面。
   The documentary Chinese Puzzle will soon meet you in Columbus.
   紀録片由上海廣播電視台(SMG)出品,SMG融媒體中心美國報道團隊耗時半年多時間,行程超10萬公里,前往美國15個州的數十座城市,採訪和拍攝了40多名學習中文和中國文化的美國人。該片也是首部全景式、系統化展現中文“敎與學”在美國發展的歷史,現狀以及變化的紀録片。
   This documentary was produced by Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and filmed by the SMGNews US team. The team spent more than half a year to report, traveling more than 100,000 kilometers and visiting dozens of cities in 15 states across the United States. They interviewed and filmed over 40 Americans learning and teaching Chinese and Chinese culture. This documentary is also the first panoramic and systematic portrayal of Chinese language education's history, current situation, and prospects in the United States.


   紀録片以個體故事串聯,梳理了中美兩國建交以來,中文在美國的發展變化,全景式展現了中文在美國的歷史、現狀和前景,以及學中文給個人、社區、學校、政府,乃至中美關係等方面帶來的影響。
   Chinese Puzzle presents the history of Chinese language education in the United States since the establishment of the Sino-US relationship by telling those individual stories. It also provides a panoramic view of the history, current situation, and prospects of Chinese language education in the United States and the impact of learning Chinese on individuals, communities, schools, governments, and even Sino-US relations.


2)語言之外:吳偉克敎授的“體演文化敎學法”之影響
2)"Beyond Language: The Impact of Professor Galal Walker's 'Performed Culture' Approach"


   俄亥俄州立大學的吳偉克(Galal Walker)敎授是片中的重點人物,他是美國“體演文化敎學法”創始人,其創建的獨特的“體演文化敎學法”,培養出大批從事中美經濟文化交流的高級人才。
   Professor Galal Walker from The Ohio State University is a key figure in the documentary. His unique “Performed Culture” approach of learning Chinese has trained many advanced-level professionals in China-US economic and cultural exchanges.


  吳偉克敎授是“中國語言文化友誼奬”的獲得者,迄今爲止他仍是全美乃至全英語世界唯一獲此殊榮者。
   Professor Galal Walker is the recipient of the "Chinese Language and Culture Friendship Award" and remains the only recipient of this honor in the United States and even the English-speaking world.

  紀録片的其他拍攝對象,旣有八九歲剛學中文兩三年的小學生,也有攻讀中文或漢語敎學碩士、博士專業的大學生:旣有致力于在全州推廣中文雙語敎學的前參議員和敎育部官員,也有曾在中國生活和工作多年,如今回美國敎中文和推廣中國文化的老師拍攝對象,還包括沉浸式中文敎學學校的校長、數十年鑽硏中文敎學法的大學敎授、娶了中國媳婦如今致力于促進中美文化交流的企業主等等。
   Other participants in the documentary include a primary school student who just started learning Chinese for two or three years at the age of eight, university students pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in Chinese studies or Chinese language education, a former senator and education department official who dedicated to promoting Chinese education throughout the state, teachers who have lived and worked in China for many years and are now teaching Chinese and promoting Chinese culture in the United States, principals of Chinese-immersion schools, a professor who has developed Chinese teaching methods based on research of successful learners for decades, and an entrepreneur who has married a Chinese wife and is committed to promote the cultural exchanges between China and the United States.


  在分享他們的中國故事時,片中被訪問的主要人物都希望早日到中國來看看。他們坦言,只有親身去看、去聽、去感受,和中國人面對面地交流互動,才能認識眞正的中國、瞭解普通的中國人民。
   When sharing their Chinese stories in the documentary, most interviewees said they hope to visit China soon. They admitted that only by going to China in person to immerse themselves in that cultural environment and engage in face-to-face conversations with Chinese people, can they trulyachieve a living understanding of Chinaby getting to know Chinese people.
