Invites you to join us for ASIA Advocacy Day

Hi everyone,    Asian Services in Action (ASIA) invites you to join us for our Advocacy Day on Tuesday, May 23rd in the Ohio Statehouse, in Columbus, from 9:30AMto 3:00PM!    This year, we are advocating for three legislative causes that will further support Ohio’s AAPI community:    House Bill 25, which would create a Commission on AAPI Affairs in the state of Ohio    The inclusion of AAPI history in Ohio’s K-12 public school curriculum    The allocation of funds and resources to address mental health challenges and inter-generational trauma in AAPI, refugee, and immigrant communities WHEN: Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 9:30AM-3:00PM WHERE: The Ohio Statehouse, 1 Capitol Sq, 、Columbus, OH 43215    We will meet with state legislators to discuss and advocate for these issues throughout the day. A free tour of the Statehouse will also be offered for those who wish to join, from 11AM-12PM. Lunch will be provided, and we can assist in transportation for those based in Akron or Cleveland, until capacity is met. We are inviting community members, advocacy organizations, and students to come.    This event is FREE to attend. However, registration is required. Please register on this form by Saturday, May 13th.
