Cleveland Cultural Gardens 76th One World Day

 

  Cleveland, OH – Since 1945 the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation (CCGF) has celebrated One World Day exemplifying the theme of the Gardens: “Peace through Mutual Understanding."
The 76th One World Day in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens will be held on Sunday August 28, 2022 from 11 AM – 6PM throughout the Gardens on both East and MLK Boulevards. One World Day will feature ethnic performances, food and cultural activities in the 30+ Cultural Gardens. Highlights include a moving Naturalization Ceremony welcoming new citizens from 20 or so countries.
The Market Place will include a variety of non-profit organizations, food vendors, merchandise vendors, and community support groups. Many gardens will have food and drinks from their culture for sale.
   During One World Day, special activities are held in each Garden to share with visitors the rich history, culture and beauty of each ethnicity represented.
   The Children’s Village will include a Story Telling Tent, Cleveland Orchestra Instrument Discovery, Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank, Crafts, Children’s Lawn Games and a Map of the World.
A diverse variety of Performances will be presented in most of the individual gardens as well as on the Centennial Peace Plaza Stage including a day ending performance by Cleveland's Bossa Nova King, the Brazilian-born Moises Borges.
   A highlight is the Parade of Flags where hundreds of marchers from dozens of cultures march with flags and traditional clothing of their heritage. The Parade of Flags has grown into a large and colorful display of the numerous heritages represented in the Gardens and the broader Cleveland community.
   As always, One World Day is free and open to the public and offers free parking. Attendees will have dozens of choices for cultural entertainment, ethnic food and drink, tours, demonstrations and shopping. Find out more about the 76th One World Day at https://clevelandoneworldday.org/2022/
