Celebrate Chinese new year

So, as we entered this new year 2022, I was asked to perform at a party for my friend Ying Pu at the Erie Chinese Journal. I did not know what to expect at this party celebrating Chinese New Year 2022 but I never turn down the opportunity to experience something new, especially if it's from a different culture and the chance to give or donate my time to people. I was asked to dance and then teach or give a mini belly dance lesson which is easy to do since we have done that so many times over the last 46 years. What blew me away though is how many different cultural groups that were there that night on Saturday Jan 29th, 2022 at the event in Twinsburg who know us at Lions of the Desert Productions, LLC and Lions Art, Inc. Our friends at C.A.M.E.O.(Cleveland American Middle Eastern Organization), The Friendship Foundation-Vietnamese Garden, The African American community, The Cultural Garden Federation, ICC-WIN, The Chinese Community, The Artist Community of Cleveland Drum, The Tain Ran Temple- DAO Kin Community and many more. But it really reminded me of what was said at an event years ago held by The Cultural Garden Federation that we, here in Cleveland have over 148 countries in our own backyard and as a military brat who has traveled the world starting at the age of 8 months old, I have learned that our world is truly small. We are all the same if you really think about it. We all love our belief system, family, food, music and dance. This is our common ground. And we at Lions have learned that we can communicate with people through our music and dance even if they do not understand or speak our language, the music and dance is that langange, that bridge to understanding. Celebrating this year and many more to come with food, music and dance that we were given by God, The Divine, The Universe, The One, LaMu, Elohim, Allah, Jehovah or whatever you want to call our Creator, we want to continue to bring everyone together once again, because the power of one can move mountains...can literally change any and everything. Let's enjoy this new year we are given and reset back to simplicity, to the basics, The Golden Rule ... Do onto others as you would have done onto you. I will leave you with two great quotes in history that I heard as a little girl:
1. "Be the change you want to see in the world" by Mahatma Gandhi. and 2. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." by Jimi Hendrix.
So come, follow me........
