Dear Clevelanders,
I want to invite you to join me for an important Tele Town Hall on
Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. This is a Tele Town Hall you
won’t want to miss! Throughout the event, I will take questions from
residents listening by phone and watching online. Registration
details will follow soon. The night of the event, registered
participants will receive a phone call and will only need to answer
the call to enter the tele town hall. Those who are unable to
participate by phone but would like to listen during or after the
event, can tune in on the City of Cleveland’s Facebook page where
the call will be livestreamed.
Here is a snapshot of the announcements made this week:
* April 20: I was joined by Public Safety Director Karrie Howard and
Police Chief Calvin Williams for a press conference regarding recent
violent crimes and other Public Safety matters. I also took
questions from media and residents during the virtual event. To view
the press conference, click here.
* April 22: I administered the oath of office to members of the
Division of Police, promoting them in rank. To watch footage of the
Facebook Live event, click here.
* April 22: The City of Cleveland announced strategic public safety
capital investments in and around the Opportunity Corridor
neighborhood. These capital investments will help transform the
delivery of services in Cleveland now and years into the future.
Through these and other significant investments, we are creating the
infrastructure to reduce crime while being more open and accessible
to the community. Additionally, the location of these investments
help lay the groundwork for additional public and private
investments in the area. View an image of a map highlighting the
projects. To learn more, click here.
I will be administering the oath of office to members of the
Division of Police, promoting them in rank on Tuesday, April 27 at
11 a.m. during a virtual ceremony. I will host a press conference
with Public Safety Director Karrie Howard and Police Chief Calvin
Williams on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:15 p.m. regarding the
upcoming NFL Draft. To comply with social distancing and mass
gathering regulations, these events will be closed to the public.
Residents are invited to join these important virtual events on the
City of Cleveland's Facebook page, where the events will be
livestreamed.
As a reminder, the City of Cleveland Municipal Lot will be closed
for monthly and transient parking beginning Tuesday, April 27
through Friday, April 30 in preparation for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Customer parking will resume on Monday, May 3 after the event
concludes. Parking will be available in the Willard Park Garage
located at 600 Lakeside Ave. (next to City Hall). Monthly parkers
can present their Municipal parking pass to attendants to receive a
ticket for free parking.
Don't forget to submit applications for my 2021 Exterior Paint
Program by April 30, 2021. The goal of this program is to help
residents protect their home investments, improve housing stock in
our neighborhoods and create a better, more equitable quality of
life. Interested Cleveland residents can call 216-664-2045 with
questions or to apply.
This week, the City of Cleveland reported 659 new coroanvirus cases.
This brings the total to 30, 277 coronavirus cases and 450 resident
fatalities in Cleveland. To date, 28,368 City of Cleveland residents
have recieved the COVID-19 vaccine. Click here to view the entire
