Coronavirus Prevention & Response:

Week in Review

Dear Clevelanders,
I want to invite you to join me for an important Tele Town Hall on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. This is a Tele Town Hall you won’t want to miss! Throughout the event, I will take questions from residents listening by phone and watching online. Registration details will follow soon. The night of the event, registered participants will receive a phone call and will only need to answer the call to enter the tele town hall. Those who are unable to participate by phone but would like to listen during or after the event, can tune in on the City of Cleveland’s Facebook page where the call will be livestreamed.
Here is a snapshot of the announcements made this week:
* April 20: I was joined by Public Safety Director Karrie Howard and Police Chief Calvin Williams for a press conference regarding recent violent crimes and other Public Safety matters. I also took questions from media and residents during the virtual event. To view the press conference, click here.
* April 22: I administered the oath of office to members of the Division of Police, promoting them in rank. To watch footage of the Facebook Live event, click here.
* April 22: The City of Cleveland announced strategic public safety capital investments in and around the Opportunity Corridor neighborhood. These capital investments will help transform the delivery of services in Cleveland now and years into the future. Through these and other significant investments, we are creating the infrastructure to reduce crime while being more open and accessible to the community. Additionally, the location of these investments help lay the groundwork for additional public and private investments in the area. View an image of a map highlighting the projects.
